A Brief Announcement

Dear Basketball Prospectus subscriber,

You've probably noticed our Basketball Prospectus Premium coverage has been pretty quiet lately. You may have also noticed that our core pro writers, Kevin Pelton, Bradford Doolittle, and John Gasaway are now writing for ESPN Insider on a regular basis. Late last year, we learned that, following their completion of the Pro Basketball Prospectus 2012-13 and College Basketball Prospectus 2012-13 annuals, Kevin, Bradford, and John would be moving to ESPN on a full-time basis. Once we got over our initial shock, we were really happy for Brad, Kevin, and John--our loss is ESPN's gain, and they'll produce the same exceptional quality content there that they've done as the backbone of our Basketball Prospectus Premium offering for years.

We stopped taking subscribers for Basketball Prospectus Premium in December, but there's no doubt many of our current subscribers paid for their subscriptions with the expectation that they'd be getting regular basketball content, so here's what we're going to do to make you whole for your subscription:

  • We've arranged with our partners at ESPN for a free trial six month ESPN Insider subscription for every one of our Premium subscribers. Here's how you get your near-daily dose of Kevin, Bradford, and John through the twilight of the 2013 NBA season and beyond. You'll also get all the other perks and advantages that ESPN Insiders enjoy, including an outstanding array of subscriber-only content across the full sports spectrum (including frequent appearances by the Baseball Prospectus and Hockey Prospectus teams). Your full ESPN Insider subscription includes delivery of ESPN: The Magazine, where you can read wonderful articles (like Baseball Prospectus author Sam Miller's recent breakdown of WAR) with no Internet connection required.

    To activate your subscription:
    1. make sure you're logged in at the Basketball Prospectus site
    2. visit your profile page.
    3. at the top of your profile page you'll see your unique ESPN Insider offer code as in the image below:

    4. copy the subscriber code
    5. visit http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/promo/offer?tr_type=insiderBasketballProspectus
    6. enter the code at this page

That's it! Enjoy six months of ESPN Insider. At the end of your six months, you will convert into a paying ESPN Insider customer. You may cancel your subscription at any time.
  • As an added bonus, we're giving all current Basketball Prospectus Premium subscribers free PDFs of all eight of our self-published Pro Basketball Prospectus and College Basketball Prospectus annuals. You now have instant, no-nonsense, DRM-free downloads of
    • College Basketball Prospectus 2009-10
    • College Basketball Prospectus 2010-11
    • College Basketball Prospectus 2011-12
    • College Basketball Prospectus 2012-13
    • Pro Basketball Prospectus 2009-10
    • Pro Basketball Prospectus 2010-11
    • Pro Basketball Prospectus 2011-12
    • and our bestselling self-published title of all time, November's Pro Basketball Prospectus 2012-13

    To access your PDFs:
    1. make sure you're logged in at the Basketball Prospectus site
    2. visit your profile page.
    3. go to the "Digital Downloads" section of your profile page, and you'll see links to the PDFs as in the below image:

Meanwhile, all the archives of Basketball Prospectus will remain intact indefinitely, free of charge.

If you have any questions regarding this arrangement or your subscription, please contact customer service at cs@baseballprospectus.com.

We appreciate your patience during this transition. Finalizing contracts delayed our announcement until now.

Thank you again for subscribing to Basketball Prospectus.
