Nov 28 - I had a couple of readers email me last week asking about an update to the SCHOENE fantasy projections, which is something our peers at Baseball Prospectus and Football Outsiders have historically done. The timing was ideal since I was already working on the in-season projections highlighted on the site this week. Updating SCHOENE was just a matter of copying those over and accounting for injuries, including players who have yet to play this season. There are some quirks to these projections. Playing time is entirely based on the season so far, meaning that players at positions hit by injury (say Luke Ridnour) will have their future minutes per game overestimated. Still, the in-season projections can help you identify players who are undervalued or overvalued for trades, or give an idea of players who might be worth picking up from the waiver wire. If you purchased the SCHOENE projections in October, you can download a new version by going to Manage Your Profile. If not, you can still purchase the SCHOENE spreadsheet for $7.95.

Oct 28 - For anyone with last-minute fantasy drafts, our SCHOENE projections now reflect last night's trade that sent James Harden to the Rockets. If you've already purchased the SCHOENE fantasy projections, you can download a new version by going to Manage Your Profile. If your fantasy draft is still coming up, find out more about our SCHOENE spreadsheet, available for $7.95. And if you've already drafted, and you snapped up Harden back when he was a sixth man, this trade should come as excellent news. Harden figures to be more valuable if only because he will play more minutes in Houston.

Oct 19 - The SCHOENE fantasy spreadsheet is now updated with today's news that Dirk Nowitzki will miss six weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. If you've already purchased the SCHOENE fantasy projections, you can download a new version by going to Manage Your Profile. If your fantasy draft is still coming up, find out more about our SCHOENE spreadsheet, available for $7.95.

Oct 17 - Today's news that Kevin Love will miss six to eight weeks after fracturing the third and fourth metacarpals in his right hand means an update to SCHOENE, which drops the Timberwolves star in the rankings but still has him as a first-round pick. If you've already purchased the SCHOENE fantasy projections, you can download a new version by going to Manage Your Profile. If your fantasy draft is still coming up, find out more about our SCHOENE spreadsheet, available for $7.95. As for the real-life implications of Love's injury, Bradford should be posting his column on that for subscribers before long.

Oct 11 - Thanks to reader Thomas for pointing out that the SCHOENE Fantasy Projections spreadsheet was mistakenly counting turnovers as a positive, not a negative for 12-team leagues. We've since uploaded a corrected spreadsheet. If you are playing in a 10-team league, or not using turnovers, you don't really have to worry about this error, but anyone playing in a 12-team league with turnovers should re-download the updated sheet.

Oct 9 - Tonight marks three weeks until opening night of the 2012-13 NBA season, and with fantasy leagues beginning to draft, be sure to check out our 2012-13 SCHOENE Fantasy Projections, available now for $7.95. Based on the same SCHOENE projections you'll see in the upcoming Pro Basketball Prospectus 2012-13, including team pace and playing time, these projections offer flexibility in terms of customization as well as default values for 10- and 12-teams with or without turnovers as a category. New this year--and to this update, if you purchased and downloaded the sheet over the weekend--are auction values. I'm not as certain of the auction valuation, which may slightly overstate the very elite players and lumps a few too many players into the replacement-level $1 bin, but these figures should still be a helpful guide if you're bidding on players. For purchasers, the fantasy projections will be updated on a regular basis between now and the start of the season to account for injuries and changes in player roles.

Now, you can download SCHOENE's exclusive projections for the 2012-13 fantasy season in spreadsheet form. Our projections are based on each player's stats over the last three seasons, the development of similar players at the same age, team and projected role. The spreadsheet costs just $7.95 and includes weekly updates between now and opening night.

The SCHOENE spreadsheet offers rankings customized to the most common NBA fantasy setups--10 or 12 teams and nine-category or eight-category (without turnovers). Users also have the freedom to change projected minutes per game as desired and see the effects.

Additionally, the SCHOENE spreadsheet includes helpful information including the most similar players and the percentage of comparable players who improved, broke out or coppaged as seen in Pro Basketball Prospectus 2012-13. To see a sample of what the SCHOENE spreadsheet provides, click here.
